1. SCOPE OF THIS PRIVACY POLICY
This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes the types of personal information collected, used, disclosed, and otherwise processed by NextGenLatina, LLC (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) when you access or use the www.nextgenlatina.com website, our mobile applications, and any affiliated digital properties, including social media pages, APIs, newsletters, and widgets (collectively, the “Services”).
This Policy applies to personal information collected directly by the Company through the Services in the ordinary course of operating our consumer-facing Latina lifestyle content platform. It does not govern the collection of personal information through third-party websites, e-commerce platforms, brand partner sites, or social media networks that may be linked from or integrated with the Services.
By accessing or using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy. If you do not agree to this Policy, please discontinue use of the Services.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
A. Information You Provide to Us
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you interact with the Services, including when you:
- Create an Account or register for the Services;
- Subscribe to newsletters, editorial digests, or content alerts;
- Post comments, forum contributions, recipes, personal stories, or other User Content;
- Participate in polls, surveys, contests, sweepstakes, giveaways, quizzes, or other interactive features;
- Submit feedback, customer support inquiries, story pitches, or other communications;
- Connect your Account with third-party social media services (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, Google); or
- Otherwise communicate with the Company by email, phone, or other means.
The categories of personal information you may provide include: name; email address; username and password; date of birth; gender; mailing address; social media handles and profile data; content preferences (e.g., beauty, fashion, food, culture, wellness); language preferences; and any other information you choose to include in your communications with us or User Content.
B. Information Collected Automatically
When you access and use the Services, certain information is collected automatically through log files, cookies, web beacons, pixel tags, software development kits (SDKs), and similar tracking technologies. This automatically collected information may include:
- Log information, such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, and pages viewed;
- Usage information, including articles read, videos watched, recipes viewed, time spent on pages, search queries, content interactions, links clicked, and the date and time of your visit;
- Device information, including device identifiers, mobile network information, hardware model, and screen resolution;
- Location information inferred from your IP address or, with your consent, from your mobile device; and
- Information about your interactions with our email communications, including open rates and click-through rates.
C. Information from Third Parties
We may receive information about you from third-party sources, including:
- Social media platforms, when you connect your Account or interact with our social media pages;
- Advertising networks and analytics providers, including demographic and interest-based data;
- Data enrichment vendors and identity verification services;
- Brand partners and co-promotion partners in connection with contests, sweepstakes, or promotional activities; and
- Affiliate marketing networks and e-commerce platforms in connection with purchase attribution.
3. COOKIES AND TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate and improve the Services, personalize your experience, and understand how users interact with our content. The types of cookies we use include:
- Essential Cookies: Required for the basic functionality of the Services, such as user authentication, account security, and session management. These cookies cannot be disabled.
- Performance Cookies: Used to collect information about how visitors use the Services, such as which pages are visited most often and which content categories are most popular, to improve functionality.
- Analytics Cookies: Used in connection with third-party analytics providers, including Google Analytics, to collect and analyze aggregated data about Services usage and content performance.
- Advertising Cookies: Used to deliver advertising on the Services or across the internet that may be relevant to your interests based on your browsing activity and content preferences. The use of advertising cookies for cross-context behavioral advertising may constitute “sharing” of personal information under the California Privacy Rights Act (“CPRA”). California residents have the right to opt out of such sharing. To exercise this right, you may: (i) enable a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser or device, which we will honor as a valid opt-out request; or (ii) submit a “Do Not Share My Personal Information” request by contacting us at privacy@nextgenlatina.com with the subject line “CPRA Opt-Out — Do Not Share.” We will process your opt-out request within fifteen (15) business days.
- Functionality Cookies: Used to remember your preferences, content interests, language settings, and personalization choices on the Services.
You may disable cookies through your browser settings. The Company honors Global Privacy Control (“GPC”) opt-out signals as required under CPRA. The Company does not otherwise respond to browser-initiated “Do Not Track” signals. You may also opt out of interest-based advertising by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative at networkadvertising.org or the Digital Advertising Alliance at aboutads.info.
4. THIRD-PARTY ANALYTICS
We partner with third-party analytics providers, including Google Analytics, to collect, analyze, and report on information about the use of the Services. These providers may use cookies and other technologies to collect data about your use of the Services over time. You can opt out of Google Analytics by visiting https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
5. HOW WE USE PERSONAL INFORMATION
We use personal information collected through the Services for the following purposes:
- Operating, maintaining, and improving the Services, including content delivery and mobile application functionality;
- Personalizing your experience, including recommending articles, videos, recipes, and content based on your interests, browsing history, and stated preferences;
- Delivering editorial newsletters, content alerts, and breaking story notifications;
- Administering contests, sweepstakes, giveaways, polls, quizzes, and other interactive features;
- Communicating with you about your Account, the Services, promotions, and updates;
- Sending you marketing and promotional communications where permitted by applicable law;
- Serving targeted advertising, including interest-based advertising;
- Conducting internal research, analytics, and auditing to improve user experience and content strategy;
- Developing new products, services, features, and content offerings;
- Detecting, investigating, and preventing fraudulent, unauthorized, or illegal activity;
- Complying with applicable legal obligations, regulatory requirements, and professional standards; and
- Protecting the rights, safety, and interests of the Company, its users, and the public.
6. LEGAL BASES FOR PROCESSING PERSONAL INFORMATION
Where required by applicable law, including the GDPR for users in the EEA or UK, we rely on the following legal bases: Contract Performance; Legitimate Interests (improving the Services, content personalization, contextual advertising, fraud prevention); Legal Obligation; and Consent (which you may withdraw at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing).
7. SHARING OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
We do not sell your personal information as defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act. We may share your personal information in the following circumstances:
A. Subsidiaries and Affiliates
We may share personal information with our subsidiaries and affiliates for purposes consistent with this Policy.
B. Service Providers
We may share personal information with third-party vendors and service providers that perform services on our behalf, such as website hosting, cloud infrastructure, content delivery networks, data analytics, email delivery, push notification services, payment processing, customer support, fraud detection, and legal and accounting services.
C. Advertising and Analytics Partners
We may share personal information with advertising networks, data analytics providers, and demand-side platforms for delivering targeted advertising and measuring ad performance. This may constitute “sharing” under CPRA. See Section 3 for opt-out options.
D. Brand and Promotion Partners
If you participate in a contest, sweepstakes, giveaway, or promotion sponsored or co-sponsored by a third party, we may share your personal information with such third party as described in the applicable promotion rules.
E. Affiliate Marketing Partners
We may share aggregated or de-identified purchase attribution data with affiliate marketing networks and e-commerce partners for purposes of tracking commission eligibility. Such data sharing will not include personally identifiable information unless you have provided explicit consent.
F. Legal Requirements and Protection of Rights
We may disclose personal information where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary or appropriate to: (i) comply with applicable law, regulation, or legal process; (ii) respond to lawful requests from public authorities; (iii) enforce these Terms or this Policy; (iv) protect the rights, property, or safety of the Company, its users, or the public; or (v) detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues.
G. Business Transactions
In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of all or substantially all of the Company’s assets, or similar corporate transaction, personal information may be transferred to a successor entity. We will notify you via email or prominent notice on the Services of any change in ownership.
H. With Your Consent
We may share your personal information with third parties where you have provided your express consent.
8. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS AND CHOICES
A. General Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have the following rights: Access, Correction, Deletion, Restriction, Portability, and Objection. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us as set forth in Section 14 below.
B. California Residents — CalOPPA, CCPA/CPRA, and Shine the Light
The Company is headquartered in California and complies with all applicable California privacy laws, including CalOPPA, CCPA/CPRA, and California Civil Code § 1798.83 (“Shine the Light”).
CCPA/CPRA Rights: California residents have the right to: know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, or share; delete personal information; correct inaccurate personal information; opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising; limit the use and disclosure of Sensitive Personal Information; and non-discrimination for exercising these rights.

Retention Periods: Identifiers are retained for the life of the Account plus twenty-four (24) months; Internet/Electronic Network Activity is retained for up to twenty-six (26) months; Geolocation Data is retained for up to twenty-six (26) months; Audio/Visual Information is retained for the life of the Account; Inferences are retained for up to twenty-four (24) months; Account Credentials are retained for the life of the Account. All categories are retained longer where required by law, litigation hold, or regulatory investigation.
Shine the Light: Under California Civil Code § 1798.83, California residents may request, once per calendar year, information about personal information disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes. Contact: privacy@nextgenlatina.com with the subject line “Shine the Light Request.”
C. Opt-Out of Marketing Communications
You may opt out of marketing communications by following the unsubscribe instructions in any email, adjusting your notification preferences in Account settings, or contacting privacy@nextgenlatina.com.
9. INFORMATION STORAGE AND SECURITY
We employ reasonable and appropriate technical, administrative, and organizational security measures to protect personal information, including encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL), encryption of sensitive data at rest, access controls, multi-factor authentication for internal systems, and regular security assessments. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected individuals and regulatory authorities as required by applicable law, including Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.82.
10. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
The Services are not directed to children under the age of thirteen (13), and we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 without prior verifiable parental consent, except as permitted by COPPA. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information promptly. Contact: privacy@nextgenlatina.com.
11. INTERNATIONAL USERS AND DATA TRANSFERS
The Services are controlled and operated from California, United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, your personal information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. Where required by applicable law, we will implement appropriate safeguards for international data transfers, such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.
12. AGGREGATE AND ANONYMIZED INFORMATION
We may compile, aggregate, and de-identify personal information such that it can no longer reasonably be used to identify an individual. We may use and disclose such aggregated or de-identified information for any lawful purpose, including research, audience measurement, content strategy, and advertising analytics.
13. EXTERNAL LINKS AND THIRD-PARTY PLATFORMS
The Services may contain links to third-party websites, including e-commerce retailers, beauty and wellness brands, social media networks, and affiliate marketing partners. This Policy does not apply to third-party websites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party websites you visit.
14. UPDATES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We reserve the right to modify this Policy at any time. We will post any changes on this page, update the “Last Updated” date, and provide additional notice for material changes as required by applicable law. Your continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
