Packing–a daunting and, at times, overwhelming task–is something we’re all on a never-ending mission to simplify. From travel essentials to expert packing hacks, we’ve created a list of items that should always make it into your suitcase, no matter your destination. Whether your next trip is an après ski escape or a tropical getaway, there are a few essentials you should never leave behind. Packing is a full-on ritual, and it’s more than the outfits, it’s also about the preparation and being ready for any event that might come your way.

To help you pack smart, we’ve created the ultimate packing checklist. Get ready to pack like a pro and stay ready for whatever your trip throws your way!

Clothing Essentials

For every type of plan–whether you’re heading to the city or a dreamy beach oasis–these outfits are must haves in your luggage:

  • Evening Look: Pack one outfit that easily transitions from day to night and is  dance floor ready. You never know when you’ll end out on the town. Bonus points if you can dress it up or down with accessories.
  • Swimsuit: You never know when an opportunity to hit the hotel pool or beach might arise–even if you’re headed somewhere cooler, you might come across some natural hot springs or a hot tub!
  • Light Jacket: Even warm destinations can get chilly at night. A light jacket or cardigan is always a good idea to have on hand.
  • Comfy Travel Fit: Leggings and an oversized sweater never fail. Extra points if the leggings can double as part of another outfit during your trip.

Shoes

We love having options and even better when they don’t take up a ton of space in our luggage. Here are a few pairs we’re bringing along with us:

  • Sneakers: A comfortable, versatile pair of sneakers that can be paired with multiple outfits are the real MVPs of traveling. You’re ready to explore a whole new world in the right pair of sneakers.
  • Sandals or Slides: Ideal for casual days or nights out–bonus points if you can make them work for both.
  • Flip-flops: They take up almost no space and come in handy when needing to walk around showers, beach days, or spa visits.

Beauty Must-Haves

The topic of beauty is where it can get a little tricky, so let’s keep it simple:

  • Skincare Basics: Stick to your daily essentials, but don’t forget SPF–that’s non-negotiable.
  • Makeup Essentials: Vacation is the perfect excuse to embrace the “no-makeup makeup look.” We’d definitely pack a waterproof mascara, blush, concealer, and bronzer.
  • Hair Care: A travel sized leave-in-conditioner, hairbrush, and satin scrunchies are all you really need. Go for sleek ponies, air-dried waves, or easy braids.
  • Fragrance: Choose one signature scent and pack it in a travel-sized bottle.

Accessories

Accessories have the power to transform any outfit–so don’t skip these:

  • A Hat or Cap: Sun protection is a must, and a versatile hat can work for casual days and stylish moments.
  • Sunglasses: Practical and stylish–the ultimate travel essential.
  • Statement Jewelry: Earrings are a must that can dress up any outfit and make you look more put together. Grab a pair of lightweight chunky hoop earrings!
  • Crossbody Bag: Small, lightweight, and compact enough to carry essentials like your wallet, hand sanitizer, and phone.

Wellness & Miscellaneous Items:

These are all miscellaneous items that make it into our bag in case of emergency:

  • Pain Reliever: It’s best to be prepared in case a headache or any other type of pain arises while on vacation.
  • Hand Wipes & Sanitizer: Hand wipes and hand sanitizer are an absolute necessity when traveling. Wiping down surfaces and keeping your hands clean can help from contracting any germs while in public spaces.
  • Period Essentials: Even if you’re not expecting your period, it’s better to be safe than sorry.
  • Medications & Supplements: Make sure to pack all necessary medications and supplements that you’ll be needing for your time away from home.

Tech & Entertainment

Create a checklist for your tech gear–especially if you plan to document your trip:

  • Phone Charger: This is important for so many reasons such as safety, navigation, and capturing all the memories.
  • Portable Charger: It’s always good to be prepared and have a spare just in case you’re taking too many pictures and your battery runs low.
  • Headphones: These are an absolute must to have on the flight, especially for noise cancellation and relaxing while flying.
  • Book: A book is always a great option to have on hand–especially if you’re wanting to do a digital detox while away.

These are the travel essentials that always stay at the top of our packing list. With smart planning and some strategic packing, you can maximize luggage space and stay prepared for anything–all while keeping you in style. Happy packing and traveling!✨
