This summer across North America is about to be filled with excitement, energy, and lots of visitors as the continent hosts the FIFA World Cup 2026. It’s going to be a season jam-packed with fútbol as dedicated fans make their way to this side of the world to follow and support their teams.

The World Cup is coming to Los Angeles, among other host cities, but today we’re focusing on all there is to do and enjoy in the City of Angels.

Los Angeles is known for its cultura, diversity, and unmatched energy. So whether you’re making your way to LA this summer or you already live in this host city, here is your Next Gen Latina-approved guide to doing LA right.

Where the Matches Happen

The magic this summer will take place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood. Less than six years old, this stadium is one of the most high-tech in the world. It has already hosted massive global events and is more than ready to welcome World Cup matches.

Designed with an indoor-outdoor concept, it allows fans to stay comfortable no matter the weather, la gente puede seguir vibing!

If you’re headed to a game, make sure to give yourself plenty of time for travel and parking. LA traffic is no myth, it’s very real.

Places to Eat (And Not Miss Out On)

LA is well known for its dining scene, and even more so for its Mexican and Latino culture. You truly have to try it to believe it.

Mariscos and Mexican Staples

  • Holbox – elevated mariscos, fresh ceviche, and definitely worth the hype
  • Guelaguetza – iconic Oaxacan cuisine
  • Tacos 1986 – Tijuana-style tacos that always leave you wanting more

Quick, Casual, Very LA:

  • Grand Central Market – options galore and perfect for group variety
  • East LA street tacos  – always a great option: quick, easy, and always tasty

Los Angeles is known for its food scene, and you won’t be disappointed.

What To Do Between Matches

In LA, you’ll find a little bit of everything to fill your time between games, because we know you’re not traveling all that way for just one match.

  • Make your way out to the beach towns like Santa Monica and bike the strand.
  • Catch a sunset along the iconic Malibu coast.
  • Plan a picnic with a view at the Griffith Observatory.
  • Walk through the neighborhoods of Northeast Los Angeles and prepare yourself for iced coffees galore.
  • Do some shopping at The Grove or stroll the iconic Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills.

No matter what you decide, there’s plenty to keep you occupied.

The Energy You Can Expect

One thing about LA, there’s a reason people find it hard to leave once they get here.

Community.

Los Angeles has one of the largest Latino populations in the country, so when fútbol takes over this summer, expect good vibes all around. Watch parties, flags waving, families gathering, and cultural pride on full display. The energy won’t just be about the matches, it will also be about connection.

Where To Stay

Where you decide to stay within the city all depends on your personal vibe:

  • Beverly Hills for a glamorous stay
  • Downtown LA for an artsy, edgy feel
  • Santa Monica for the beach lovers
  • West Hollywood for those interested in the nightlife the city has to offer

Choose your home base wisely, LA is a city of neighborhoods, and each one brings its own personality.

Game Day Fit–Ready!

We have to admit, getting game day ready might be what we’re most excited about. We’ve been brainstorming summer looks, and here are a few of our favorites:

  • An oversized fútbol jersey with comfy biker shorts
  • A slick ponytail (maybe with a braid) paired with gold hoops
  • Adidas sneakers, whether the München, Spezial, Samba…you name it
  • A clear bag to make sure you meet stadium security regulations

And of course, the good vibes!!

We cannot wait to visit Los Angeles for a summer filled with fun, sun, fútbol and adventure.
